Leonardo filled pages with bat-winged flying machines. Ornithopter draws one wing through its down-stroke in three exposures — two ghosts and the final, fully rendered wing with its gold leading spar — driven by a small gear train at the shoulder. A dotted flight path climbs off the plate. The motto is the whole point: learn to fly by flying.
